Paying for Study Abroad

Faculty-Led Programs

Cost: Total program cost can be found on the program brochure page. For many programs a deposit is due five days after committing to the program. Please see your program's brochure for further details.

Not all programs include meals, tuition, flights, passports, or visa costs. Ensure to check the budget carefully. Costs will be billed directly to your Student Self-Service account.

Below is an example of payment details. Please check your program's brochure or contact an Education Abroad branch campus office for further information.

Payment Deadline:  30 days before program departure

Financial Aid: Students can use financial aid to pay for their program costs. Students should meet with a financial aid advisor to ensure eligibility.

Exchanges

Cost: Students will be charged for in-state tuition to their Student Self-Service account. A deposit is due five days after committing to the program. Please see your program's brochure for further details.  Other costs such as housing, flights, visas, meals, etc. will vary on location, and students should consult with the USF Education Abroad office.

Affiliate Programs

Cost: Program costs will be paid to affiliates directly. 
Administrative Cost to USF: $375

Payment deadline to USF: Administrative cost paid to USF within 5 days of commitment to the program

Non-Affiliate Programs

Cost: Program costs will be paid to outside organization or university directly. 
Administrative Cost to USF: $500

Payment deadline to USF: Administrative cost paid to USF within 5 days of commitment to the program

Non affiliate programs are not eligible for financial aid.

MAKING A STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM CHARGE PAYMENT

Once charges are posted to your account you will receive an email from a USF Education Abroad fiscal team-member.  You can make your deposit payment for program confirmation online in Student Self-Service (formerly OASIS).  Select the option to "Pay by line item", check the box or boxes for the program description which will start with a 5 digit number, then 6 digits for the term date and then the program name and indicate your payment amount.

STUDENT PAYMENT OPTIONS

1. eCheck (recommended) – check payments can be made in Student Self-Service (formerly OASIS) by entering the routing and account number from your checking account paper checks. Benefits: There is no additional cost to pay using this method and payments post immediately.

2. Bank Card – MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit card payments can be made in Student Self-Service (formerly OASIS).  A 2.75% convenience fee will be charged. Tuition and fee payments by bank card must be made on the web at:

  • Students: USF Central Authentication Login
  • Parents, Spouses, Guardians, etc.: Authorized Users Login

3. Cashier's Office –   Please request a deposit slip from the Education Abroad fiscal team at EA-Business@usf.edu

You may drop off checks and/or money orders in the drop box outside in the hallway of the Cashier's office (Tampa campus - SVC 1039).  Make sure to include your name, student ID, and term.  Please note the drop box is checked daily and payments will be posted within 24 to 48 hours.  On student tuition payment due dates, all checks dropped by 5:00 PM will be processed and posted the same day.
