Writing Studio

Welcome

Welcome to the Writing Studio! The Studio offers free synchronous and asynchronous writing assistance with experienced writing tutors to all currently-enrolled USF undergraduate and graduate students. The Writing Studio is here to support students as they find their writing voice and develop their projects at any stage of the writing process.

Synchronous (in-person and Online) Services

The Writing Studio offers in-person appointments at the Tampa library location (LIB 233) and online appointments through Microsoft Teams. During each synchronous session, students will have 50 minutes to talk with a writing tutor, who will ask questions about writing goals and concerns. Consultations are interactive and collaborative, so students should come prepared to work actively on their writing. To learn more about the synchronous services and book an appointment, students can visit the Synchronous Services page.

Asynchronous Service (Write-a-Bull)

Write-a-Bull makes work readable! Students can submit up to 5 pages of their writing projects at a time and receive feedback from a writing tutor within 10 business days. This asynchronous tutoring service is geared toward semester or year long projects, as well as polishing final drafts, but is available at any stage of the writing process. To learn more information and make a request, students can visit the Write-a-Bull page.
