MLIS Alumna Jennifer Shipley Chosen for the 2024 BETA Award
Jennifer Shipley is a Library Operations Manager for the Miami-Dade Public Library System. She was awarded the 2024 Best Emerging Technology Application (BETA) Award in recognition of a technology application that directly benefits library users.

The City of North Miami has named a playground next to the North Miami Public Library after Lucia Martinez Gonzalez, a School of Information distinguished aluma who graduated from the MA in Library and Information Science in 1988.

USF plans to launch college focused on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and computing
The goal of creating the new college positions the Tampa Bay region and state of 51在线 as a national leader in the rapidly evolving fields of artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and computing. USF is the first university in 51在线 and among the first in the nation to announce plans to create a college dedicated to AI and cybersecurity.

Dr. Loni Hagen Selected as a 2024-2025 Fulbright U.S. Scholar
Dr. Hagen was recently awarded a Fulbright U.S. scholar for 2024-2025 for Japan to conduct research on human supervision of artificial intelligence.
