Housing Application

Spring 2025 Room Assignment Process

Before you can be assigned a room, you must complete the first three housing application stepsIf you are a current USF student, you have likely already registered for orientation.

In order to be included in the first group of eligible students who may receive a room assignment on Monday, November 25, students must complete these steps before the Spring 2025 Priority Deadline of Friday, November 22, at 11:59 p.m. Students who apply after November 22 will receive more information about on-campus availability on December 2. Check your USF email regularly for more information.

Step 2: Room assignment process

If you applied BEFORE the Priority Deadline of November 22...

Students who applied between November 4 - November 22 will be added to a randomized list to receive a room assignment. The student's place on the list is not based on the day they applied. Room assignments will begin on Monday, November 25, and will be based on the number of available spaces on campus. Housing & Residential Education will consider the room preferences students indicated on their Housing Application when assigning students to a space. However, please keep in mind that specific room styles are not guaranteed, as Spring 2025 housing is extremely limited. Students assigned to a space will receive an email confirmation through their USF email.

If you applied AFTER the Priority Deadline of November 22...

Students who applied after the priority deadline of November 22 will still be able to apply for Spring 2025 housing, but they will not be included in the first group of students eligible to receive a room assignment on November 25. Please remember that Spring 2025 housing is limited. Those who apply after the November 22 priority deadline will receive more information on December 2 regarding availability on campus.

Step 3: Standby list

Spring 2025 housing is extremely limited. Housing & Residential Education will initiate a Standby List for Spring 2025 once students have been assigned to the available spaces on campus. Initiating a Standby List does not mean USF Housing is out of beds, as more beds will become available as cancelations are processed.

After the assignment process concludes, students with an active housing application who are not immediately assigned to a space will receive an email directing them to add themselves to the Spring 2025 Standby List in the Housing Portal if they are still interested in living on campus.

Room Changes

Based on availability, room changes will take place beginning January 27. Housing & Residential Education can not guarantee that there will be rooms available for change, and thus cannot guarantee that room changes will be occurring in Spring 2025.
