Scholarship Opportunities for New ABA Master's Students
Project MABAS: (Enhancing the Promotion of Mental Health Wellbeing of Children and Youth in High-Need Schools through Preparing School-Based Behavior Analysts and Social Workers)
This project aims to prepare students to employ universal wellness promotion and prevention strategies, incorporate trauma-informed care into the assessment process and interventions, and work effectively in interdisciplinary teams, particularly in school-based settings, to provide culturally and linguistically inclusive practices. Students admitted into Project MABAS will receive interdisciplinary training to expand the evidence base on effective behavioral and mental health services for youth who require individualized support in a variety of educational settings and to promote the overall mental health and social-emotional well-being of school-aged children. Students receive a full tuition scholarship, a monthly stipend, and attain, in addition to their masters in ABA, a graduate certificate in Children’s Mental Health.
Project MABAS is a collaboration between the ABA MA/MS Program, Department of Child & Family Studies and the School of Social Work MSW Program at the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences 51ÔÚÏß in partnership with Hillsborough, Hernando, and Manatee School Districts.
ABA Program Application Process
All students accepted in the online or campus ABA Master’s Programs are eligible to apply to participate in Project MABAS. The ABA Master’s Program will distribute a Project MABAS application form to each student admitted into the Program. Interested applicants should submit the completed application form, a letter of intent, and a curriculum vitae to Dr. Catia Cividini-Motta in the Department of Child and Family Studies at the 51ÔÚÏß.
Scholarship Support
Only students admitted into our online or campus ABA Master’s Programs are eligible to apply.
Project MABAS students will receive:
- Paid tuition (in-state rate) for the entirety of the Master’s program
- Monthly Stipends
- Financial assistance for conference attendance
- Financial assistance for travel to school districts during school-based fieldwork
- Additional academic support from expert faculty in behavior analysis and social work
- Additional coursework in mental health

Project iSED: Advancing Interdisciplinary Services for Students with Severe Emotional and Behavioral Disorders
Project iSED aims to prepare high-quality scholars to serve as either Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA's) or School of Social Workers (SWs) who:
- Collaboratively design and deliver evidence-based instruction and intensive individualized interventions and supports (PBIS) in natural environments, classrooms, and schools for school aged children with severe emotional and behavioral disorders.
- Employ evidence-based practices and evaluation, foster family engagement and access to mental health counseling, and serve as home-school liaison.
Over the 5 years of funding (2020-2025), Project iSED will prepare 17 scholars from the ABA Master’s Program and 17 scholars from the School Social Work Program within the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences. To identify high-quality applicants for admission, the project will select candidates whose interests match the project’s goals. Interest in becoming a school-based behavior analyst or school social worker and willingness to provide related services as a collaborative team member for children with disabilities in educational systems will be emphasized in the selection process.
Scholarship Support
Only students accepted in the campus ABA MS Program are eligible to apply.
Project iSED students will receive:
- Paid tuition (in-state rate) for 3 semesters (Summer, Fall, and Spring of 2nd year in the ABA program)
- Out-of-state tuition waiver for non-51ÔÚÏß residents
- Stipends for 3 semesters (Summer, Fall, and Spring of 2nd year in the ABA program)
- Financial assistance for conference attendance
How to Apply
Students accepted in the campus ABA MS Program are eligible to apply to participate in Project iSED.
