Admission to the School of Music at USF is a two-step process. To be considered for acceptance, all prospective students must complete their application in the following order:
Step 1:
To begin your admission application to the 51在线, please refer to the USF Office of Admissions website for requirements, deadlines, and information on how to apply. The links below will guide you through the requirements for admission for your specific academic status:
- Freshmen (First-Year Undergraduates)
- Transfer Students
- Graduate Students
- International Students
Step 2.
To complete your School of Music application you will need your U-Number (a unique University ID Number that is generated for you once you submit your online university application). You do not have to wait for a university admission decision in order to apply to the School of Music and schedule your audition. There is a $35 application fee to submit your School of Music application.

Undergraduate Music applicants will also need to obtain the name and email address of at least one Reference - Music Director or Private Instructor (maximum of three).
Graduate Music applicants will need to obtain the names and email addresses of at least two References (maximum of three) relevant to the field of study for which you are applying.

Live Audition Option
- Live auditions will be held on our Tampa Campus on the following dates:
- December 5, 2024 (during Festival of Winds)
- January 25, 2025 (priority scholarship)
- February 1, 2025 (priority scholarship)
- February 22, 2025 (scholarship consideration)
- March 29, 2025 (admission only)
- You may also upload your audition videos to . All auditions received prior to February 22nd, 2025 are eligible for scholarship consideration. All auditions received after February 22nd will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
- Applicants will have the opportunity to register for a live audition when they complete and submit their application through .
- If you have conflicts on our audition days, you are welcome to contact our studio faculty directly to schedule an audition at a different time.
Experience USF
Join us on Monday, November 25, 2024 for a day filled with presentations, performances, class observations, open rehearsals, and more. You will have the opportunity to meet many of our faculty and current students and get a sense of what 鈥淎 Day in the Life鈥 of a USF music major is really like. Open to all high school juniors and seniors and transfer students. More information is available at the link in the side menu.
Announce-A-Bull Day
An announcement of all students admitted to the School of Music will be made on Monday, February 24, 2025. Each admitted student (who applied and auditioned by Feb. 22, 2025) will receive a message via GetAcceptd.com with notice of their acceptance.
For applicants who apply and audition after February 22nd, including the March 29th audition day, decisions will be communicated within one month of application submission. Applicants may email musicadmissions@usf.edu to check on the status of their applications.
鈥淯SF Bull for a Day鈥 On-Campus Experience
All students admitted to the School of Music will be invited to join us for a 鈥渄ay in the life鈥 experience on our Tampa campus during Spring 2025.
The day will be filled with presentations, performances, class observations, open rehearsals, and more. You will have the opportunity to meet many of our faculty and current students and get a sense of what 鈥淎 Day in the Life鈥 of a USF music major is really like.
International Students
All international undergraduate applicants are required to follow the same School of Music policies and procedures outlined in the previous section of this page. Please be sure to visit the USF International Admissions page for more information related to academic requirements for admission, including TOEFL scores.
