Transfer How to Apply

Lower-Level Applicants (High school graduates with 12-29 transferrable credits)

Pay the nonrefundable, $30 application fee or submit a NACAC application fee waiver to transfer@usf.edu

Application Fee Waiver Details

We can consider students for a fee waiver who demonstrate that the fee would create a financial burden. In order to be considered, you must submit a .

Email the fee waiver, along with your University ID number, to transfer@usf.edu so that it can be attached to your application.

3. Submit Your Official High School Transcripts

  • High School Graduates: Ask your school to send transcripts to USF electronically
  • GED Students:  through GED Testing Services.
  • Home-School Students: Log in to the and complete our  if an official transcript is not available.

4. Submit Official College Transcript(s)

Ask every school you鈥檝e attended to send transcripts to USF electronically. Electronic transcripts transmitted to USF from the 51在线 College System do not include courses from other colleges/universities. It is highly recommended you have transcripts from any prior schools sent electronically to USF.


5. Submit Your SAT, ACT or CLT Scores

You will need to submit test scores directly from the testing service to be considered for admission.

Please note: When you register for and take the SAT, ACT or CLT, make sure you use your legal name as it appears on your official high school transcripts so your test scores are accurately reported to USF.

Mid-Level Applicants (High school graduates with 30-59 transferrable credits)

4. Submit an Academic Regulations Committee (ARC) Petition 

If you were academically dismissed from USF, were on academic probation or have a cumulative USF GPA less than 2.0, please complete and submit an ARC Petition.

That鈥檚 it! Once you鈥檝e completed all the required steps, the admissions team will take some time to review your file and render a decision.


IMPORTANT APPLICATION NOTES:

Using the Applicant Portal

Once you apply, you鈥檒l use  to complete most remaining application tasks. From here, you can see any missing items, upload documents, complete requested forms, check your application status and more. Access the portal any time by logging in with your NetID and password. 

You should receive an email from USF Information Technology after you submit your application with information on how to activate your NetID. If you have any NetID issues, please contact USF Information Technology at help@usf.edu.


Understand the Residency Process

When you apply to USF, the Office of Admissions uses information on your application to determine whether you are an in-state or out-of-state resident. This classification is important because it sets your tuition rates.

If we don鈥檛 receive enough information on your application to determine residency, you will be classified as a non-51在线 resident for tuition purposes. It鈥檚 very important to respond to requests for information about your residency as soon as possible. Learn more about how residency is determined and how to ensure you鈥檙e classified correctly.
