MCOM students take top honors in national radiology competition

The USF Health Morsani College of Medicine recently took first place in a nationwide competition to expose medical students to radiology known as the RadiOlympics.  

The four-month competition consisted of seven rounds of five questions and one round of ten questions. Schools earned points on speed and accuracy as they diagnosed a variety of images and answered trivia questions related to the specialty.  

The goal of the competition is to not only raise awareness of the radiology field, but also improve students鈥 confidence and ability to interpret imaging.

鈥淚鈥檓 so proud of our students鈥 victory in the RadiOlympics!鈥 said Deborah DeWaay MD, FACP, senior associate dean of undergraduate medical education and professor of internal medicine at MCOM. 鈥淭hey triumphed in all six rounds of the competition and finished with the highest accuracy score.  This achievement is a testament to their hard work and dedication to their studies.鈥
