Bailey has been instrumental in advancing healthcare education at USF through simulation-based training, with a research focus on leveraging immersive extended reality (XR) technologies to enhance learning outcomes and improve both the access to and quality of health care training. One notable example of her impactful contributions is her leadership in a National Institutes of Health-funded project that uses XR to train medical residents in managing obstetrical emergencies in rural and underserved areas. This innovative curriculum addresses a critical need, as rural counties in the U.S. experience significantly higher pregnancy-related mortality compared to urban areas. Her achievements have garnered national recognition, with invitations to speak at esteemed organizations such as the National Training and Simulation Association and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.

With over $2 million in extramural grants secured from prominent funders, including the NIH, Bailey has not only bolstered resources for Tampa Bay鈥檚 tech community but also created life-changing opportunities for her students.
