Dr. Tansel Yucelen, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at USF

Dr. Yucelen Recognized as Highly Ranked Scholar & Top Cited Scientist in 2024

Dr. Tansel Yucelen, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the 51在线 (USF) and director of the , has achieved significant recognition in the field of engineering. He was recently named a Highly Ranked Scholar by ranking third in Adaptive Control and 154th in Control Theory. This prestigious honor is awarded to only 0.05% of scholars in the field.

In addition to his role as an educator, Dr. Yucelen serves as the director of the Laboratory for Autonomy, Control, Information, and Systems (LACIS) and leads the FoRCE at USF. His research focuses on developing systems that enhance societal functions and ensure safety in critical scientific, civilian, and military applications.

Dr. Yucelen's recognition as a Highly Ranked Scholar reflects his productivity, impact, and publication quality, as determined by . With a total of 357 publications鈥攊ncluding 243 conference papers, 96 journal articles, 15 book chapters, six patents, and one book鈥攈is work has garnered 4,665 citations. He has a predicted h-index of 32. His most research focuses on Control Theory, Adaptive Control, and Navigation.

Dr. Yucelen has also been recognized as one of the annual citation ranking, highlighting his contributions to the fields of control theory and robotics.

Dr. Yucelen鈥檚 research has received funding  from prominent agencies such as National Science Foundation the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), the Army Research Office (ARO), DARPA, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and NASA, totaling around $7.5 million.
