Biography

Dr. Marvin Andujar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science
and Engineering Department and Research Lab Director of the Neuro-Machine
Interaction Lab in the at the 51ÔÚÏß. His research expertise is on
Human-Computer Interaction/Human-Centered Computing with an emphasis on
emerging interaction such as Brain-Computer Interfaces and immersive interactions. His
research’s goal is to design, develop, and investigate how user’s daily life can be
improved through emerging technologies. His research expands to applications in
education, gaming, engagement/attention, and drone interaction. Dr. Andujar’s research
has been funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF),
SOFWERX/DEFENSEWERX, the 51ÔÚÏß High Tech Corridor, and Intel. His work has
been covered in more than 600 media news outlets worldwide including the New York
Times, Associated Press, Discovery Channel, the Verge, Engadget, among others.

Dr. Andujar received his Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from the University of
51ÔÚÏß. During his Ph.D. studies, Dr. Andujar was recognized as a National Science
Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, a GEM Fellow, a Generation's Google Scholar,
and an Intel Scholar. He also co-founded the Brain-Drone Race and received $300,000
from a former CEO and VP of Intel. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in
Mathematical Sciences. He is a member of ACM, IEEE Computers, and the Brain-
Computer Interface Society. Lastly, he has been named as a top 10 under 40 in Tampa
Bay by Tampa Magazines.
