CSE Scholarships
Welcome to the CSE scholarships page. Listed below are scholarships for 1) undergraduate students transferring into computer science, 2) undergraduate students in computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, or information technology, and 3) graduate students in the department. All scholarships are dependent on availability of funds and may not be offered every year.
Unless otherwise noted below, all scholarship applications are now via the USF Office of Financial Aid scholarships page - use this link /financial-aid/scholarships/. The application deadline (unless otherwise noted below) for fall 2024 scholarships is May 17, 2024.
Scholarships for UNDERGRADUATE students transferring into computer science
CSE Pathways Scholarship: Scholarship: The CSE Pathways Scholarship is a competitive $1500 scholarship for high-achieving undergraduate students who are transferring into the computer science undergraduate program. Students must be transferring to computer science from a major outside the College of Engineering. The scholarship is intended to help students partially overcome costs from additional courses that they may need to take as a result of transferring. The criteria for selection include academic standing, leadership, and expected impact from the scholarship to graduation. Apply by filling out this . Deadlines are June 1st for Fall semester scholarships and November 1st for Spring semester scholarships. It is expected that multiple scholarships will be awarded every year depending on the qualifications of the applicants.
Scholarships for undergraduate students in CS, CpE, CyS, or IT
CAE USA Scholarship: Scholarships for students at the sophomore academic level or higher, pursuing a major in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, in the College of Engineering, on the Tampa campus. This scholarship is based on merit, 3.5 GPA or above. Student must have graduated from a high school in the state of 51在线 and must be a US Citizen. Past award amount has been $2000 for multiple students with a preference for at least one female enrolled in one of the fields of study listed above.
CSE Amazon Cybersecurity Scholarship: Scholarship for full or part-time undergraduate students pursuing Department of Computer Science and Engineering majors with a preference for cybersecurity majors. Preference for students from under-represented populations including women, first-generation, African American, Hispanic, and Native Americans. Scholarship amount is $1500 per semester for two semesters. Selection criteria are leadership and academic merit.
CSE Chair's Scholarship: The CSE Chair's Scholarship is a competitive $500 scholarship for high-achieving undergraduate students admitted into a Computer Science and Engineering undergraduate program. The criteria for selection include academic standing, leadership, and expected impact from the scholarship to graduation. We seek to support students where the $500 scholarship will reduce the time needed to complete their degree. Deadlines are June 1st for Fall semester scholarships and November 1st for Spring semester scholarships. Scholarships are dependent on availability of funds. Apply by completing this application.
CSE Computing Partners Program (CPP) Scholarship: The CPP scholarship is a competitive $2000 scholarship for high-achieving undergraduate students in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Based on financial need. It is expected that six to ten scholarships will be awarded depending on the qualifications of the applicants and availability of funds. The scholarship funds are made available from donations from Amazon Pays, CAE, Johnson & Johnson, JP Morgan, Nielsen, and Raymond James.
Joe Rogers Memorial Endowed Scholarship: To provide scholarships to full-time students, at all academic levels, pursuing a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Cybersecurity, in the College of Engineering, on the Tampa campus. This scholarship is based on merit and financial need, can be awarded 2 semesters. Preference will be given to a student in the USF Whitehatters student organization. Expected award amount is $2000 for one student.
Katare Family Scholarship in Computer Engineering: To offer scholarships to full-time students at all academic levels, pursing one of the following majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, MSCS, MSCP, MSIT, in the College of Engineering, on all campuses. This scholarship is based on merit with a preference for financial need and is renewable up to eight semesters. Preference for a female student.
Matthew James Moreno Scholarship: Provides scholarships to full-time students at all academic levels, pursing a Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Information Technology major in the College of Engineering on all campuses. This scholarship is based on merit with a preference for financial need and can be awarded two semesters.
Norman N. Blankenship Family Scholarship for Engineering: Scholarships for full-time undergraduate students pursuing a major in one of these fields: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Cybersecurity in the College of Engineering on the Tampa Campus. Scholarship can be awarded for two semesters to a student with financial need. Preference will be given to veterans. Past award amount has been $2000 for one student.
Peter Pempsell Endowed Memorial Scholarship: Scholarship to assist computer science students with education, who have financial need and a 3.0 GPA. Additional scholarship criteria: full or part-time students, all academic levels, College of Engineering, Tampa campus. Past award amount has been $1000 for one student.
Praxsys Technologies Scholarship: To offer scholarships to full-time undergraduate students, pursuing a Computer Science & Engineering major, in the College of Engineering, on the Tampa campus. This scholarship is based on merit with a preference for financial need and is renewable up to eight semesters.
Schnabel-Sparacio Scholarship: Scholarships to full-time, currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Engineering on the Tampa campus of USF, majoring in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering. This scholarship is restricted based on merit and financial need (as determined by FAFSA). This scholarship can be awarded two semesters. Preference for a student who is a United States citizen or a permanent resident of the United States. Consideration should be given to leadership in a student chapter of Computer Science or Electrical Engineering professional societies and/or membership in a related society. Expected award amount is $2000 for one student. Note that this scholarship rotates between CSE and EE on a yearly basis and is for both undergraduate and graduate students.
SunView Software Scholarship: To support scholarships for full-time undergraduate students, majoring in Computer Science & Computer Engineering, in the College of Engineering, on the USF Tampa campus. This scholarship is based on merit and financial need and can be awarded two semesters.
Scholarships for departmental graduate students
Professor Ranganathan Memorial Scholarship: To provide scholarships for full-time graduate students, pursuing a major in Computer Science and Engineering, in the College of Engineering, on the Tampa campus. This scholarship is based on merit with a preference for financial need and can be awarded two semesters.
Schnabel-Sparacio Scholarship: Scholarships to full-time, currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Engineering on the Tampa campus of USF, majoring in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering. This scholarship is restricted based on merit and financial need (as determined by FAFSA). This scholarship can be awarded two semesters. Preference for a student who is a United States citizen or a permanent resident of the United States. Consideration should be given to leadership in a student chapter of Computer Science or Electrical Engineering professional societies and/or membership in a related society. Spirit of Innovation Scholarship: To offer an award to doctoral students majoring in Computer Science and Engineering in the USF College of Engineering on the Tampa Campus of the University. This award is restricted based on merit and will be awarded to full and part-time new graduate or currently enrolled graduate doctoral students for a maximum of two semesters per student.
