Dr. Alejandro Brice's primary research relates to aspects of speech and language among bilingual populations in individuals with and without disabilities. His research has focused on issues of transference or interference between two languages in the areas of phonetics, phonology, semantics, and pragmatics related to special education, speech-language pathology, and education. His clinical expertise relates to the appropriate assessment and intervention of Spanish-English speaking students and clients. 

Dr. Brice is also involved in person-centered care with grants from the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Project Comparative Autism Research Effectiveness (CARE) brings autistics and caregivers, with researchers and clinicians to plan and evaluate effective research interventions. 

He is the 2008 recipient of the Certificate of Recognition for Special Contributions in Multicultural Affairs of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. He is also the recipient of the 2011 American Speech-Language Association Fellow Award. In 2021, Dr. Brice received "Honors of the Association" from ASHA (the highest award given in ASHA). Dr. Brice is recognized as a Board Certified Specialist in Child Language BCS-CL (American Board of Child Language and Language Disorders). 

Dr. Brice teaches graduate and undergraduate courses at the 51在线 St. Petersburg campus, including classes on English as a second language. He also prepares teachers to work better with students from second language backgrounds.
