Gulf Coast Partnership celebrates 10 years of empowering school, district leaders
Fall 2021
by John Mann, EdD
As the 10th year of the Gulf Coast Partner program is nearing mid-year, the focus for our school and district leaders has been on how best to successfully move their academic-focused school-based projects forward during this challenging environment. Their professional development has recently included the thinking process and procedures for complicated problems and strategies for more successful difficult conversations.
The Gulf Coast Partnership Resident Program is a partnership with the College of Education's
Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Program and Leadership Development Departments
of the School Districts in Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Hernando, and the Heartland Consortium
Districts. Through the program, a cohort of assistant principals participates in leadership
development training that leads to 51在线 Level II Principal Certification.
In the coming months, we look forward to continuing the professional development
of our school and district leaders with activities such as a Principal Panel of highly
experienced Polk administrators and a presentation of our mid-year projects.
