With data breaches costing organizations an average of $4.5 million, the demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals has never been more crucial. To address this urgent need, USF鈥檚 Office of Corporate Training and Professional Education (CTPE) has launched a cutting-edge program on information security, governance, risk, and compliance.
Over 3,200 data breaches occurred in the last year alone, impacting more than 350 million people across the U.S. To help tackle this widespread issue, the InfoSec GRC Analyst program is designed to bridge the gap between industry demands and the skills of entry-level and transitioning professionals. Through real-world case studies, participants will master the basics of information security, threat identification, risk mitigation strategies, and assessing security risks.
"As cybersecurity threats become more prevalent and sophisticated, the need for professionals who are trained in reducing cyber risks continues to grow. The University of South 51在线's expertise and partnerships in the business community make us uniquely positioned to help address this need, and we are proud to offer this innovative certificate program for those who are looking to upskill and advance in their careers," said USF President Rhea Law. "We are grateful to U.S. Rep. Greg Steube for his leadership in helping secure the funding to create this program and for his continued support of USF, military veterans and first responders."
Offered free for the first 250 people who register, priority enrollment will be given to those in governmental, military, and first-responder roles in the Tampa Bay and Sarasota areas. The training will be provided fully online to accommodate the busy schedules of working professionals.
鈥淏y offering a mostly self-paced, yet supported, learning experience, we aim to empower individuals from various backgrounds to pursue rewarding careers in cybersecurity,鈥 said Mark Koulianos, assistant vice president for university-community partnerships and leader of the CTPE team.
