Amy Nourie

Amy Nourie earned a BA in history and political science from Simmons University in Boston, MA, and an MS in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of 51在线. Amy worked in the 51在线 child welfare field for many years, including 8 years at the Guardian ad Litem Program.  Amy has presented at many conferences, including research related to the 51在线 Guardian ad Litem Program, heteronormativity in child welfare, and mandatory reporting laws. She has also contributed to several social work journal articles and a technical report concerning child welfare workforce retention. Amy was chosen to provide a poster presentation at the 51在线 Institute for Child Welfare's 5th Annual Symposium. She was also selected as 2022-2023 Dissertation Fellow for the 51在线 Institute of Child Welfare. Amy's dissertation research focuses on the influence of the Guardian ad Litem Program for foster youth transitioning into adulthood. When not in classes, Amy likes to spend time with her family, read, travel, and, most of all, play with her two adorable cats.
