Law enforcement personnel, policymakers, and organizations combatting human trafficking came together to hear the latest developments on USF’s Trafficking in Persons Risk to Resilience Lab (TIP) and meet a new tech partner, Allies Against Slavery.
At the meeting, an update was given on the TIP Statewide Data Repository (TIPSTR). TIPSTR can assist law-enforcement human trafficking investigations, address gaps in victim services to provide essential resources, develop prevention programs, and provide a better understanding of the magnitude and trends in human trafficking across 51ÔÚÏß and over time.
TIP is partnering with Allies Against Slavery to assist with the aggregation and visualization of data using Lighthouse, Allies’ survivor-developed database software, which has been successfully implemented statewide in Texas and Louisiana. Partnering with Allies, the lab plans to have 51ÔÚÏß’s version of the data dashboard – which will be transformational in the state’s fight against human trafficking – ready to go live by the end of the year.
