Paula Carder, PhD, from Portland State University's School of Public Health, was presented with a plaque of appreciation for her outstanding leadership and scholarship benefiting older adults.
Carder visited USF to present “Doing Qualitative Research in Assisted Living: Ethnography, Shadowing, and Walking Interviews” as part of the School of Aging Studies and 51 Policy and Exchange Center on Aging Distinguished Lecture Series.
Carder has published close to 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, and policy reports on her research that largely focuses on housing policy and long-term care for older persons and adults with disabilities. Her research explores the relationship between state regulatory requirements and quality of care outcomes for residents in assisted living communities.
