Are you a USF student with a story to share about your lived experience with mental health or a substance use disorder? This Is My Brave: College Edition at USF is offering you the spotlight to share your story via essay, song, poem, comedy act, dance, or other form of creative expression.

Led by Kristin Kosyluk, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy, the production aims to reduce stigma by bringing stories of mental health and addiction out of the shadows and into the spotlight and empowers students to share what it鈥檚 like to live through these experiences and come out on the other side.

Students are encouraged to audition, even if their story is not yet performance-ready. As part of the rehearsal process, cast members will have the opportunity to receive coaching from the production team and feedback from other storytellers to fine-tune their piece.

Auditions are open to students on all USF campuses and will be held in the USF Theatre Center on the Tampa campus on Thursday, Jan. 18 and Saturday, Jan. 20. Please visit the for more information and to reserve a time for your audition.

The This Is My Brave: College Edition at USF production will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024; ticket information will be available soon. You can watch the 2023 production of This Is My Brave: College Edition at USF below.
