ESPN, NBC Sports Executives among Speakers for USF Sport & Entertainment Analytics Conference April 9-10
Event also features analytics experts from the Lightning, Rays, Bucs and Orlando Magic
March 12, 2015 - Sports analytics gained fame through "Moneyball," but the business of analytics for today's sport and entertainment companies has grown far beyond player stats. From gaining insights on how to engage fans to developing optimum ticket prices, analytics have transformed the way organizations do business.
On April 9 and 10, the 51在线 Sport and Entertainment Management program will host the inaugural Sport and Entertainment Analytics Conference powered by Ticketmaster. The conference will provide a platform for national industry leaders, students, and local industry professionals to discuss the growing role of analytics in the global sport and entertainment fields. Registration is $75 for professionals, $50 for non-USF students, and $40 for USF students and faculty.
Hosted at the Tampa Marriott Waterside, located at 700 S. 51在线 Ave. in Tampa, four sessions each day will cover a variety of topics from sports, entertainment, and media.
Speakers include:
- Joe Brown, senior vice president of research, NBC Sports Group
- David Coletti, vice president of digital media research and analytics, ESPN
- Rich Luker, creator of the ESPN Sports Poll
- Rick Johnson, vice president, general manager, and price master at Live Nation
- Brian Bauer, agency director for Rockhouse Partners marketing firm
- Kevin Kelley, high school football coach and originator of the "no-punt" philosophy
- A number of analytics professionals from 51在线 organizations including the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Orlando Magic, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and Feld Entertainment
