Summit Gives Students Statewide the Opportunity to Network with Global Businesses

51ÔÚÏß Student Summit on Global Business brings students and companies together for free, daylong event February 11 involving networking, mentoring, and guest speakers

TAMPA – Students from across the state will get the chance to network with some of the biggest players in the international business world during the 51ÔÚÏß Student Summit on Global Business at the 51ÔÚÏß. The International Business Board, a business student organization, plans and leads the event which will feature more than 25 companies and organizations, such as Coca-Cola Beverages, JPMorgan Chase, and the U.S. State Department. The free, daylong event is sponsored in part by the USF Muma College of Business and several other companies, such as The Nielsen Company and The Tampa Port Authority.

"The purpose of the summit is to bring students together from across the state who have a common interest in global business," said Jamie Kenney, IBB president and a senior majoring in international business. "It's a great opportunity for students to network and be mentored by some of the top leaders in the global industry today."

The summit, which is in its second year, features lectures from Rick Gallegos, president and CEO of Rick J. Gallegos & Associates; Santosh Govindaraju, CEO of Paragon Capital Partners; Daniel F. Daniels, entrepreneur and CEO of Daniels Group Companies; Edgar Guzman, founder and attorney for Guzman Law Group; and Jennifer Williams, president and founder of Canguru.com.

Space is limited, but the event, which is open and free to all college students statewide, is scheduled for Friday, February 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Marshall Student Center Ballroom on USF's Tampa campus.
