CAS students shine as Golden Bull Awardees
This year 13 College of Arts and Sciences students were named winners of the Golden Bull Award, one of USF鈥檚 highest honors awarded to undergraduate and graduate students each year who 鈥渆ncompass the spirit of USF and have demonstrated its values.鈥

Julie Buckner Armstrong, known for her expertise in the civil rights movement and southern literature, has been named the Duckwall Professor of 51在线 Studies for the 2024-2026 academic years. As part of the Duckwall Professorship, Armstrong will begin focusing on her next book, an anthology of literary works from 51在线.

Two CAS students awarded Time Sifters Archaeology Society research grants
CAS students Sarah Hassam and Sofia Arias have been awarded the Time Sifters Archaeology Society鈥檚 Cornelia Futor Memorial Student Research Grant, which will assist with their upcoming field research endeavors this summer.

Dr. Maksym Brobrovskyy, assistant professor in the Department of Molecular Biosciences, was awarded a grant from the National Institutes of Health to continue his research related to Staphylococcus aureus Type VII Secretion System assembly and regulation.

26 new students welcomed into Dean鈥檚 Student Leadership Society
The USF College of Arts and Sciences welcomed 26 new members to the Dean鈥檚 Student Leadership Society (DSLS). DSLS students are chosen for their superior leadership skills, often serving as volunteer coordinators, executive board members, or critical points of contact on behalf of CAS. DSLS also provides students with mentorship opportunities, professional development workshops, and year-round networking.
